Donald Charles Gladu

PALMER-Donald C. Gladu, 87, passed away Thursday, December 4, 2014 at Wing Memorial Hospital. Donald was born in Holyoke on May 21, 1927, a son of the late Ovila and Antonia (Farley) Gladu. He grew up and resided and Chicopee for many years. Donald most recently resided at Palmer Health Care Center, and will be greatly missed. He retired from Philip Hano & Co, after working there for many years. He was a founder and shareholder of the Buffalo Club in Fairview. He is predeceased by his wife, Mary Leona (LaBarre) Gladu; two brothers, Gerald and Norman Gladu; and two sisters, Cecile Tinney and Constance Wilson. He is survived by his son Gerry Gladu and his wife Catherine of Colorado; and a sister, Noella McClain of Westfield. Calling hours for Donald will be Tuesday, December 9, 2014 from 5-7PM in the Messier Funeral Home, 1944 Northampton St, Holyoke. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, December 10, 2014 at 11 AM in Notre Dame Cemetery, 63 Lyman St, South Hadley.
