Diane Marie Laplante

DIANE M. LaPLANTE 1953 - 2011 Holyoke- Diane M. LaPlante, 58, passed away on Tuesday, December 20, 2011 at Holyoke Medical Center. She was born in Holyoke on December 11, 1953, a daughter of Arthur Desorda and Laura (Foote) Desorda Brouillard of W. Virginia. Diane was educated in Holyoke schools and was primarily a homemaker who welcomed everyone into her home and into her heart. She was a foster care provider for most of her life and her willingness to help those in need was one of her many god given gifts. Diane�s door was always open for her children, her family and her foster children whatever the circumstance. Diane loved her Native American culture and that spirit carried her throughout her life journey. Diane is survived by her four sons, Mike Desorda and his wife Melissa of FL; Ron Labonte and his wife Karen of PA; Joe Labonte and his wife Kristen of Chicopee, MA; James St. Jean of Holyoke; her daughter, Christina Houle of Monson, MA; 2 brothers, Stephen Peterson of Holyoke; Freddy Peterson of TX; two sisters, Donna Peterson of MD; Terry Mitchell of W. Virginia. Diana will be missed by her five adored grandchildren, Kaitlynne Labonte, Kayla Labonte, Kristina Labonte, Michael Desorda, Keira Labonte as well as her extended family including her nieces, nephews, cousins and foster children. Visiting hours for Diane will be held on Wednesday, December 28, 2011 from 5-8 PM at Messier Funeral Home, 1944 Northampton St., Holyoke, MA 01040. A funeral ceremony in her honor will also be celebrated at 7:30 PM on Wednesday evening.
