Delia Brunelle Kennedy

HOLYOKE- Delia (Brunelle) Kennedy, 102, a true �Holyoker� and gentle soul passed away at the golden age of 102 at Mt. Marie Health Care Center. She was born in Holyoke on April 23, 1914 a daughter of the late Joseph and Florina (Labbee) Brunelle and educated and raised in this great city. She was a woman ahead of the times and worked for Aetna Insurance Co. for over 25 years before retiring as a lead clerk. She took great pride in herself which was evident in her everyday dress and she was always a gracious host. Her menu options for dining were spectacular, especially her steak pizzaiola. Delia enjoyed being an active parishioner at the former Holy Family Parish and was a proud member of the Ladies Sodality. She was predeceased by her husband Donald V. Kennedy in 1953. She maintained her strength and faith after his passing to continue being involved with her family, friends and at the parish with the Sisters of St. Joseph. Her quiet and gentle ways will be missed by her family, especially her devoted brother, Paul Brunelle of Westfield; her nieces and nephews: Christine Brouillard of Westfield; Gail Zukowski of Northfield; Pauline Auld of W.Springfield; Robert Brunelle of Westfield; William Dubuc of IL; Donald Dubuc of FL and several grandnieces and grandnephews. Friends and family are invited to her Life Celebration services on Thursday, September 1, 2016 from 9-10:15AM at Messier Funeral Home, 1944 Northampton St., Holyoke, MA 01040 and her Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11AM in Blessed Sacrament Church, Holyoke.
