Debbie Cabrera

Debbie (Ortiz) Cabrera, lifelong resident of Holyoke, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, June 2, 2023, at the age of 63. Debbie was born on September 10, 1959, in Holyoke, MA, a daughter of Francisco Ortiz Flores and Blanca R. Ortiz, she was raised and educated in Holyoke and attended Holyoke High School. She was a longtime employee of National Blank Book, later known as Avery Dennison in Holyoke. Debbie was a warm and attentive woman who put family and friends first. She was a loving daughter, mother, grandmother, and true friend. She was a parishioner of the former Our Lady of Guadalupe Church and currently of St. Jerome Church in Holyoke. Her interests included Bingo, shopping, family gatherings and celebrations, but most of all it was sharing time with her cherished grandchildren. Debbie leaves behind her loving children, Juan Arroyo and his companion, Karen Pagella and Jessica Arroyo and her companion, Eric Perez, her companion, Rodney McIntyre, grandchildren, Evan and Aidan Ortiz, Erixavier Perez, and Bella Arroyo, siblings, Louis Albert Ortiz and his wife, Fatima, Rosa Rivera and her husband, Anibal, Doris Ortiz, Ana Ortiz and husband, Michael, Emily Ortiz-Carattini and husband, Angel, and Susan Ventura, who was her lifelong friend and confidant. Family and friends will gather on Thursday, June 8, for calling hours for Debbie from 4-7 PM at Messier Funeral Home, 1944 Northampton St., Holyoke. Her funeral will be held on Friday, June 9, beginning at 9 AM from the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM at St. Jerome Church, 169 Hampden St., Holyoke.
