Deane L. Morin, 57, of Holyoke, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on Tuesday December 20, 2022, at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield.
Deane was born in Greenfield, MA, on November 29, 1965 to the late Fred A. Morin and Margaret J. (Choiniere) Morin. He moved to Florida as a young boy and returned to Massachusetts as a teen to attend high school. He was a graduate of Greenfield High School.
Deane was a quality control technician at the former Westfield Coatings Company, now known as RPM Wood Finishes Group Inc, where he worked for the last 22 years. He was known to be a very hard worker and was even awarded Employee of the Year a few years back. Prior to his employment with RPM, he was employed by Al’s Tire & Auto in Westfield, his family owned business, for 16 years.
Deane was a wonderful provider for his family, going to work in the wee hours of the morning each day up until he stopped working in September 2022.
Deane was an avid outdoorsman. He was a hunter, a fisherman, and went camping often every summer. He was a fan of the Red Sox and Patriots, hardly ever missing a game when they were on.
When Deane was not outdoors, he spent his time with his family and played video solitaire.
Deane was a lover of classic rock. His favorite band was Lynyrd Skynyrd. Many would describe Deane as a “Simple Man”, just like their hit song.
He will be dearly missed by his loving wife of 24 years, Laurie N. (Hosford) Morin of Holyoke; two daughters, Madeline M. Morin of Holyoke, Victoria E. Morin and her fiancé Steven Williams of Ware, MA; his cherished grandson, Aaron R. Williams and another grandson that is due January 2023; three brothers, Dennis, Norman, and Fred, and sister Lynn whom all reside in Florida; his cousin and close friend Michael Morin and wife Alice of Westfield; as well as numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his eldest sister, Sue.
A celebration of life will be held for Deane in the spring of 2023.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to your local animal shelters, as Deane always had a soft spot for animals.
There are no calling hours, and the burial will be private.
