David Lee Jefferson

April 15, 1939 — February 19, 2025

David Lee Jefferson, 85, beloved husband of 59 years of Carol Mae (Barnes) Jefferson passed away on February 19, 2025, at Day Brook Village Nursing Center in Holyoke, MA.
David was born on April 15, 1939, in Wabash, IN, a son of Robert O. and Ruth E. (Casper) Jefferson, he was raised in Wabash, Indiana by his mother and his stepfather, Hugh “Bud” Estel Martin from the age of eleven.
He was a 1957 graduate of Wabash High School, in Wabash, Indiana and he later received his bachelor’s degree in physics from Purdue University in Lafayette, Indiana.
David served his country honorably in the U.S. Army as a Specialist 4th Class.
He was employed for over 34 years in marketing. He was last employed at Kodak Polychrome Graphics in Holyoke, MA.
He had several hobbies and interests that included gardening of both vegetables and flowers, watching football and rooting for his favorite teams, the Chicago Bears and the New England Patriots, and working with electronics, building a T.V. and working on computers.
David is survived by his loving wife, Carol of Holyoke, daughter, Laura Ann LeClair of Lynn, MA, stepbrother, Charles Askren of Mescal, AZ and stepsister, Marcia (Askren) Jennings of Crystal Lake, IL, seven grandchildren, David Jefferson Singleton, Carol Ashley Singleton, Elizabeth Ruthellen Batista, Armando Marucci Batista, II, Katelynn Laura Mae Batista, Christina Angelina Batista, and Lucas Andrew Adam Batista, and three great grandchildren, Matthew James Michael David Singleton, Kaleb Alfred and Laniyah Lynn Evans.
A Celebration of David’s life will be held at a later date.
