Constance Esther Stepniak, 82, of Holyoke, beloved wife of 61 years of Thomas Stepniak, passed away on Tuesday December 28, 2021 in Boca Raton, FL. Constance was born January 13, 1939, in Holyoke, MA, a daughter of Ernest and Rita (Courchesne) Hamel. She was a longtime parishioner of Blessed Sacrament Church in Holyoke and was employed as a Cashier for many years.
Connie loved her family dearly. Her best time were when they were all together, especially at the beach, picnics, holidays, the Big E and the casino with her beloved husband, Tom. Connie loved volunteering at the hospital and made wonderful friends. Connie and Tom had wonderful memories when they spent the winter months at their condo in Boca Raton, FL with their many friends. She is survived by her husband Thomas, three daughters, Diana and her husband Michael Zabielski, Cheryl and her husband Norman Fleurent, and Jennifer and her husband Anthony Westbrook; siblings, Robert and his wife Janet Hamel (Pre-deceased), Donald and his wife Mary Hamel, and Joanne Wiernasz and her partner Thomas Basile; grandchildren, Candace and her fiancée Nick Provost, Rachael and her partner Nick Cranshaw, Brittany Zabielski, Jamie Westbrook and his fiancée Denise Crockett and Kyle Zabielski; great-grandchildren, Sebastian and Ramona Provost and by many dear nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to meet for visitation on Sunday January 9, 2022 from 4 – 7 PM at the Messier Funeral Home, 1944 Northampton St., Holyoke. Connie’s funeral service will be held on Monday January 10th with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 9 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Church, 1945 Northampton St., Holyoke. Burial will be private at Mater Dolorosa Cemetery in South Hadley. Memorial donations may be made in Connie’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
