Constance D. (Pierson) Kibit Gravel1942-2014HOLYOKE-Constance �Coni� D. (Pierson) Kibit Gravel, 72, passed away at Mercy Medical Center on Monday, December 1, 2014. Coni was born on November 24, 1942 in Newark, NJ to the late Frederick and Dorothy Pierson. Coni attended Sacred Heart High School in Holyoke. She worked as a waitress at various restaurants in the Holyoke area for many years. Coni graduated from HCC in 1997 and recently retired from Metcalf School as a preschool teacher�s aide, known to her students as �Miss Coni.� She was predeceased by her son, Ronnie Kibit Jr. in 1965; her second husband, Richard Gravel; and her sister-in-law Kathleen Pierson. Coni is survived by her three daughters, Lisa Kibit-Shea Taylor and her fianc� Thomas Benson; Karen Kibit-Lajoie and her husband Richard, and Susan Kibit Turschman and her husband Toby; two step children, Tina Gravel and Richard Messenger; a friend and �adopted� daughter Marian Harris; four grandchildren, Alyssa Turschman and her fianc� Angel Maldonado, William Lyle III, Brittany Wright and her husband Joshua, and Alyson Turschman; and two great-grandchildren, Brodie Wright and Alexis Maldonado. She is also survived by four siblings, Carol Houle and her husband Richard, Frederick Pierson Jr. and his wife Cynthia, William Pierson, and Stephen Pierson and his wife Shirley; her first husband Ronald Kibit; and several nieces, nephews and extended family. Coni�s family would like to make a special thank you to Dr. John Bedford and the Mercy Hospital staff for their hard work and dedication. Calling hours for Coni will be Friday, December 5 from 4-7PM in the Messier Funeral Home, 1944 Northampton St, Holyoke. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be Saturday, December 6 at 9:30AM in Blessed Sacrament Church, 1945 Northampton St, Holyoke. Burial will be private in St. Rose de Lima Cemetery in Chicopee.
