Claire E. Mongeau

Claire E. Mongeau 1925 � 2008 HOLYOKE � Claire E. (Guyott) Mongeau, 82, died Saturday, October 4, 2008 following a brief illness. She was born in Holyoke on October 14, 1925, to the late John and Adrienne (Hamel) Guyott. Claire attended schools in Holyoke. She owned and operated the former Claire�s Wig Boutique in Holyoke. Claire�s passion was attending Bingo at the Knights of Columbus Council 4044 in Chicopee and her many trips to Foxwoods Casino in Connecticut. Claire was predeceased by her second husband, J. Steve Mongeau in 2003 after fifty-four years of marriage. She leaves to cherish her memory two sons, Barry S. Mongeau of Westfield and Bryan A. Mongeau and his fianc�e Sharon Allen of Westfield; her daughter Lauren A. Levreault and her husband David of South Hadley; her sister Joan Germain of South Hadley; her five grandchildren, David Levreault and his wife Heidi, Holly Giroux and her husband Peter, Joseph, Jason and Timothy Mongeau and her two great grandchildren, Hannah and Reagan Giroux. She will also be sadly missed by several nephews and nieces including Pam Lindberg of Springfield. Claire was predeceased by her first husband Andrew S. Bagocus, her brother Emery Guyott and her sister Rena Keenan. There will be a Service of Remembrance at 9:45 a.m. on Friday, October 10 at the Messier Funeral Home, 1944 Northampton St, Holyoke. Burial will follow at 11:00 a.m. in the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Main St, Agawam. Calling hours will be Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. Memorial contributions, may be made in Claire�s memory, to a charity of one�s choice.
