HOLYOKE- Claire A. (Paquette) Goddu, 94, of Holyoke, died peacefully at Daybrook Village on April 16, 2019. She was predeceased by her husband, Charles E. Goddu in 1991. Claire leaves behind a sister, Pearl Kelley of Greenville, South Carolina, a son Peter Goddu and his wife Roberta of Southampton, MA; two grandsons, Matthew Goddu of South Hadley, MA and Jason Goddu of Southampton, MA, a great grandson, Matthew “Quinn” Goddu of Tennessee, as well as many nieces and nephews. Claire was an elementary school teacher in the Holyoke Public Schools before her retirement. She also served as a volunteer for many years at Holyoke Medical Center and was also a long-time member of their Auxiliary, and was a member of the Franco American Women’s Club of Chicopee, MA. There will be a celebration of Claire’s life on Thursday, April 25, 2019 with calling hours from 10:30AM-12:00PM at Messier Funeral Home, 1944 Northampton Street, Holyoke. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will follow at 12:30PM in Blessed Sacrament Church, 1945 Northampton Street, Holyoke. The Rite of Committal and Burial will conclude in Notre Dame Cemetery, South Hadley, MA.
