Carol J. Chagnon

Holyoke – Carol J. (Fleming) Chagnon, 82, passed away Monday April 18, 2022, at UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester. Born in Holyoke to George and Laura (Forester) Fleming, she was a 1958 graduate of Holyoke High School.
Carol was employed as a Receptionist at the Holyoke YMCA for many years and was a member of St. Jerome Church in Holyoke. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Joseph W.R. Chagnon in 2017.
She is survived by her children, Renee M. Chagnon, Scott Chagnon and his wife Karin and Joel Chagnon and his wife Melissa ; brothers, George Fleming, Harold Fleming, and Richard Fleming; sisters, Laureen Bruso, Linda Laliberty and Maureen Peletier; grandchildren, Samuel Jr., Andrew, Amanda, Stephanie, Briana, Zacharia, Joseph and Christopher; great granddaughters, Cora and Sophia and by many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to meet for calling hours on Wednesday April 27th from 4:00 – 7:00 PM at the Messier Funeral Home, 1944 Northampton St., Holyoke. Carol’s funeral service will be held on Thursday April 28th at 9:15 AM at the funeral home, followed by a committal service at 11:00 AM in the Chapel at the Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main St. in Agawam.
