Carlos Melendez

HOLYOKE-Carlos Manuel Melendez, 60, passed away in Holyoke on October 5, 2014. Carlos was born on August 26, 1954 to the late Carlos Melendez and Maria Medina in Bayamon, Puerto Rico. He moved from Puerto Rico when he was 12 years old and has lived in Holyoke since. Carlos was a jivaro con orgullo and enjoyed visiting Puerto Rico. He was a hardworking man, and worked for ABC Supply Co. in Springfield for many years. Carlos was funny, full of life and loved his family. He was predeceased by his son Carlos Melendez in 2001. Carlos is survived by his four daughters, Maria Melendez, Millie Melendez and her husband Jose Urbina, Mildred Melendez, and Chenex Melendez; a niece and adopted daughter Jessenia Colon; 12 grandchildren, Kaja, Keelie, Kayesha, Kia, Kailee, Natasha, Nathan, Nicole, Domanique, Dimitri, Samiyah, and Mayanah; one great-grandson Kayvian; and his girlfriend, Emelyn Lugo. Calling hours for Carlos will be Friday, October 10 from 3-7 PM in Harvest Mission Church, 677 High Street, Holyoke and be followed by a service at 7 P.M.
