Blanche D. Roberge
1916 – 2008
HOLYOKE – Blanche D. Roberge, 92, died Saturday, July 26, 2008 at the Holyoke Health Care Center. She was born in Holyoke on February 14, 1916, to the late Alphonse and Eva (Phaneuf) Roberge. Blanche attended schools in Holyoke and graduated from Holyoke High School in 1934. She was a parishioner of the former Sacred Heart Church in Holyoke and worked as a manager at the former S and H Green Stamp Store in Springfield for many years. Blanche leaves to cherish her memory, her brother, Lionel Roberge and his wife Dorothy and her sister, Bella Roberge all of Holyoke; her niece Mary Fortin and her husband Roger of Holyoke; her grand niece, Annie Fortin of Holyoke and her grand nephew Paul Fortin and his wife Catherine of Norwood, MA. Besides her parents, Blanche was also predeceased by her sister, Annette Fristik. There will be a Liturgy of Christian Burial Wednesday, July 30 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, Maple St, Holyoke. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery in South Hadley. Calling hours will be Wednesday morning from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. at the Messier Funeral Home, 1944 Northampton St, Holyoke.
