Beverly (Haas) Parent, beloved wife of Lucien Arthur Parent, who predeceased her in 1988, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 1, 2025, at her son's home in Killingworth, CT at the age of 97. Beverly was born on May 6, 1928, in Holyoke, MA, a daughter of Frederick and Pauline (Durant) Haas, she was raised and educated in Holyoke and resided on Longfellow Road, for over 30 years. She moved to Florida to be near her sister Pauline and returned to the area in 2018 to be near family. Beverly leaves behind her four loving children, Mark Parent and his wife, Sandra of Vero Beach, FL, Christopher Parent and Carol Lonergan of Longmeadow, Bruce Parent and Alicia Imperiale of Killingworth, CT, and Cynthia and her husband, T. Pepper Clayton of Middletown Springs, VT, as well as 9 cherished grandchildren and 16 cherished great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her five siblings. Fred, Shirley, Peachie, Isabelle, Ernie. Beverly was a deeply loving mother and grandmother who often said her family was her greatest gift and accomplishment. Her love was expansive, encompassing many friends and as a hostess in her home. She especially loved hosting at Christmastime. Beverly was a talented home designer, a gifted seamstress and an avid reader. Beverly loved to learn. She was a true and deeply spiritual person. She also loved to sing and golf, and she played for decades at Springfield CC. Her journey in Holyoke began in Ward 1 and together with her husband Lou they built United Engineers and Uneco Mfg. that moved to Lower Westfield Rd in Holyoke in 1979 as a key employer in the Holyoke business community. Family and friends are invited to gather on Sunday, June 8, for a period of visitation from 4 – 6 PM at Messier Funeral Home, 1944 Northampton St., Holyoke, MA. Her funeral service will be held on Monday, June 9, with a calling hour from 9-10 AM at the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM at Our Lady of the Cross Church, Holy Cross Ave. Holyoke. Committal prayers and burial will follow immediately after the Mass at St. Jerome Cemetery in Holyoke.
