HOLYOKE-Beverly C. (Jackman) Page, 75, passed away at Mount St. Vincent Care Center in Holyoke on Wednesday August 13, 2014 after a six year battle with Alzheimer’s disease. She was born in Holyoke on December 25, 1938, the first Christmas birth of that day, to loving parents, Lillian and Lester Jackman. Beverly attended local schools, graduating from Holyoke High school in 1956 and Holyoke Jr. College in 1958. She was a long-time parishioner of Holy Cross Church in Holyoke and served as director of the religious education program, as well as Secretary for Msgr. John F. Beverly was a Girl Scout Leader for the Western MA council for over twenty years, leading troops of Brownie, Junior, Cadette, and Senior Scouts. She was active in the St. Gerard Mother’s Guild and Daughters of Mary. After retirement, Beverly and her husband Richard relocated to the south where she remained active in local parishes in Texas and South Carolina, as well as enjoying golf and social events with their many friends and acquaintances. An avid reader all her life, Beverly also enjoyed painting birdlife and lighthouses along the coast of SC, crafts, loved music and singing, and walked several miles daily. Beverly was a loving and devoted wife to her husband, Richard Page, whom she married at Precious Blood Church in Holyoke on October 21, 1961, and enjoyed 53 years together. She is predeceased by her son Michael, who died in an automobile accident on Sept. 12, 2002. Besides her husband, Beverly is survived by two sons, Richard Page Jr. and his wife Carol of Summerville, SC, and Edward Page of Georgetown, TX; four daughters, Lynn Moynihan and her husband Keith of Georgetown, TX, Elizabeth Page of Georgetown, TX, Allison Shepherd and her husband Daniel of Colchester, VT, and Leslie Taylor and her husband Tom of Snellville, GA. Beverly had eight beloved grandchildren, Brian, Shawn and Christian Moynihan, Benjamin and Cameron Shepherd, Lindsey and Caitlyn Taylor, and Paula Page, all whom she was very close to and spent a large part of her retired life visiting and enjoying their company. The Page family would like to thank the staff of Mount St. Vincent Care Center for the wonderful care and support given to Beverly.
