Beatrice M. Sloan

Beatrice M. Sloan 1921 � 2010 FITCHBURG, MA � Beatrice M. �Bea� (Girard) Sloan, 88, formerly of Holyoke, died on Tuesday, January 12, 2010 at the Highlands Nursing Home in Fitchburg, MA. She was born in Holyoke on February 28, 1921 to the late Wilfred A. and Isabel S. (Battice) Girard. Bea attended schools in Holyoke and was a graduate of Holyoke High School. She was a former parishioner of Blessed Sacrament Church in Holyoke. Bea and her husband were avid candlepin bowlers and belonged to different local leagues. Bea was predeceased by her loving husband, Graham M. Sloan on October 30, 1992 after thirty-seven years of marriage. She leaves to cherish her memory her two sons, John G. Sloan of Townsend, MA and Donald G. Sloan of Dayton, OH; her brother, Wilfred A. Girard of Holyoke; her sister, Margaret Aurnhammer of Holyoke; her three grandchildren, Douglas, Sarah and Jennifer Sloan and many nieces, nephews and extended family members. A funeral procession will form on Monday, January 18, 2010 at 8:45 a.m. at the Messier Funeral Home, 1944 Northampton St, Holyoke, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Church in Holyoke. Burial will be Tuesday, January 19, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. in St. Jerome Cemetery in Holyoke. Calling hours will be on Sunday, January 17, 2010 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
