Barbara Marie Bernier

Barbara Bernier 1924 � 2009 Barbara Marie (Depping) Bernier, 85, of Holyoke, passed away on Monday October 26, 2009 at home. Born in Belchertown and a resident of Holyoke for most of her life, she was the daughter of the late Claude and Isabelle (Picard) Depping. Barbara was a graduate and valedictorian of St. Jerome High School Class of 1941. A talented seamstress, she was employed by the former Real Baby Shop of Holyoke and the former Steiger�s department stores in down town Springfield and at the Holyoke Mall. Barbara retired in 1986. She loved quilting, needlepoint and crocheting. Barbara was a communicant of St. Jerome Church in Holyoke. She leaves her husband of (63) years, Eugene A. Bernier; her son, John Bernier and his wife Karen of Holyoke; her daughter, Joanne Phillips of Pennsylvania; a brother Charles Depping of Virginia; (3) sisters, June Byrnes of Holyoke, Claudia Shore of Pittsfield, Priscilla Murdock of North Carolina; (3) grandchildren and (3) great grandchildren. Funeral services will be on Friday, October 30, 2009 from the Messier Funeral Home 1944 Northampton St., Holyoke at 9 a.m., followed by the Liturgy of Christian Burial in St. Jerome Church at 10 a.m. Burial will be in St. Jerome Cemetery, Holyoke.
