Andrew Alan Farnsworth

Holyoke – Andrew Alan Farnsworth, 68, of Holyoke, MA passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 7th 2024 at Holyoke Medical Center. Andy was born July 30th, 1955 in Geneva, NY to the late John Farnsworth and Mary Lienk. He was a graduate of Geneva High School, class of 1972, and received his Bachelor’s Degree from SUNY Fredonia. Andy was employed as a wine and liquor salesman at M.S. Walker importer & distributors for 35 years, but his true lifelong passion was music. He played both electric and bass guitar in several bands throughout the Finger Lakes and Pioneer Valley, including Splinters, Roadhouse, Alexander Moon & the Scythe Chariots, and Mister Noizy & the Sparkplugs. He also collaborated with many talented musicians over the years, including Tom Lucas, Mark Herschler, Patrick Lavery, and Michael Powers. Andy is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 38 years, Deborah F. Hanley of Holyoke; his daughter, Sonny Farnsworth of Brooklyn, NY; his stepmother, Tris Farnsworth of New York, NY; half-brother, Peter Farnsworth of New York, NY and niece, Marissa Soran, of Brooklyn, NY. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Steve Farnsworth. A Celebration of Life Service will be announced this Spring.
