William T. Morris

Tribute William Thomas Morris, beloved husband of 52 years of Gail A. (Nelson) Morris, passed away on Tuesday, November 9, 2021 at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield at the age of 79. William was born on August 16, 1942 in New Bedford, MA, son of Frank and Mary (Botelho) Morris. He was raised and educated in New Bedford and attended New Bedford Vocational High School, before residing in Holyoke and most recently in South Hadley. William served his country honorably as a Specialist 4 in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was later employed as a tool maker, for over 32 years, at United Technologies Research Center. William leaves behind his loving wife, Gail of South Hadley, and daughters, Lisa Wyman and her husband, Scott of Hawaii, Heather Morris and her husband, Stephen Rogers of Duxbury, MA, and Elizabeth Clark of Litchfield, NH, two Hanai daughters, Emily and Amanda Lambert; sisters, Maryann Boucher and Regina Riding both of Fairhaven, MA, and five cherished grandchildren, Caitlyn, Julia, Tyler, Nathaniel, and Lauren. A period of visitation will be held for William on Saturday, Nov. 20 from 10 - 11 a.m. at Messier Funeral Home, 1944 Northampton St., Holyoke, followed by a service at 11a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be private at the Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery in Agawam.
