Tribute     SONIA M. ESPINOZA 1947 – 2018 HOLYOKE- Sonia M. (Ramirez) Espinoza, 71, a longtime social worker for the MA Department of Children’s and Families died on August 15, 2018 at Holyoke Medical Center. She worked for many years helping children and families through DCF. Sonia enjoyed arts and crafts, music, traveling to Mexico and especially to Disney World with her children and grandchildren. She leaves three children, Wanda Morales of Holyoke; Nelson Morales and his wife Jeanette of Florida; Brenda Morales and her husband Pedro of Holyoke. She will be missed dearly by her ten grandchildren: Pedro Torres and his wife Eliana, Triana and her husband Henry, Jessica Morales, Talyssa Torres, Roberto Ortiz, Sheila Espinoza, Sasha Espinoza and her husband Reynaldo Espada, Nelson Morales, Tayshana Torres and Rodrigo. She also will be remembered by her 6 great grandchildren: Neftali, Cecilia, Irvin, Olivia, Tivany and Gabriella. She leaves her sister, Lourdes Serrano. Sonia was a great role model for many and she worked tirelessly to better herself and those around her. She attained her Bachelor’s Degree while working fulltime for DCF and raising three children. Sonia’s visiting hours will be held on Monday, August 20, 2018 from 4-7PM at Messier Funeral Home, 1944 Northampton St., Holyoke, MA 01040. Her funeral will begin at 9:45AM on Tuesday, August 21, 2018 from the funeral home and conclude with a Mass at 11AM in Immaculate Conception Church, 54 N. Summer St., Holyoke.
