    Mildred M. Finn

    January 30, 1927 - October 9, 2013

    HOLYOKE- Mildred M. �Bonnie� Finn, 86, daughter of the late Martin J. and Margaret (Collins) Finn passed away peacefully at Wingate of West Springfield on October 9, 2013. Born in Holyoke, Bonnie graduated from Sacred Heart School and received both her Bachelor�s and Master�s degrees from Our Lady of The Elms College in Chicopee, MA. Bonnie was a fourth grade teacher working in the Chicopee Public Schools primarily at the Stefanik School until retiring after 35 years. Bonnie also worked as a chemist for research and development at the Springfield Armory. A lifelong resident of Holyoke, Bonnie was a member of the Massachusetts Teachers Association, the National Education Association, the Springfield Catholic Women�s Club and a faithful communicant of Blessed Sacrament Church. Bonnie was predeceased by a sister, Kathleen (Finn) Maloney; a brother, Thomas Finn; nephews, Thomas K. Finn; James M. Finn and a niece, Julie Desfosses. She is survived by her sister, Judith Desfosses of Rochester, NY; a brother, Martin Finn of Holyoke; 13 nieces and nephews, several grandnieces and grandnephews and many cousins and dear friends. A kind, loving and generous soul, Bonnie touched many people�s lives and will be deeply missed. The family wishes to convey our deepest gratitude to caregivers who were also friends, Mary, Margaret, Stella, Maggie, Sheila, Brittany, Jordan and Scotlyn. She loved you and was so grateful for your loving care. Dr. Thomas Judd, Dr. Nancy Westermann and all of the doctors and nurses at the Holyoke Medical Center, and a special thanks to Dr. McDougall and all the nurses and staff at Wingate of W. Spfld. Bonnie passed away peacefully, comfortably and with respect and dignity. The care and compassion shown to our aunt was outstanding. Family and friends are invited to meet at Blessed Sacrament Church, 1945 Northampton St., Holyoke to celebrate a Liturgy of Christian Burial on Tuesday, October 15, 2013 at 10AM, followed by the Rites of Committal and Burial in Calvary Cemetery, Holyoke. If friends desire, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Finn Scholarship, c/o Elms College, 291 Springfield St., Chicopee, MA 01013.
