    Maxie J Moskal

    October 10, 1927 - November 18, 2019

    Tribute Holyoke - Maxie J. Moskal, 92, passed away at the Holyoke Soldiers’ Home with his family by his side. Born in Holyoke to the late Jan and Bronislawa (Bochanek) Moskal, he was a lifelong resident and a graduate of Holyoke High School. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during WWII. Max worked for James River Graphics as a Machine Operator for many years. He was a faithful parishioner of the former Mater Dolorosa Church in Holyoke. Max loved playing bingo, gardening, spending time with his family and was proud of his Polish heritage. He was predeceased by his beloved wife and high school sweetheart in 1983, Frances (Salamon) Moskal; a grandson, Patrick J. Moskal in 2017 and a special friend Stasia Kozuch. He will he missed by his children; Mitchell Moskal and his wife Debra, Frank Moskal and his wife Barbara, Lenny Moskal and his wife Lorie, Edward Moskal and his wife Patricia; his eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He is also survived by his two sisters, Josephine Nartowicz and Adele Beaton; two nieces and extended family, including, Kris Kozuch. The family would like to thank the Holyoke Soldiers’ Home for their care and compassion during his stay there. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, November 26th from 4 – 7 PM at the Messier Funeral Home, 1944 Northampton St., Holyoke. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, November 27, 2019 at 10am in Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Church, Holyoke St. in Westfield followed by burial with Military Honors in the Mater Dolorosa Cemetery, South Hadley. If friends desire, memorial donations in Max’s name may be made to the Mater Dolorosa School, 25 Maple St., Holyoke, MA 01040.
