Lillian Lina Benard

LILLIAN L. BENARD 1915 � 2011 HOLYOKE- Lillian Benard, 96, passed away at County Estates on October 7, 2011. Lillian was born in Chicopee a daughter to Arthur and Bernadette (Cartier) Benard. Lillian was a well known business woman and member of the Quota Club in Holyoke. She owned Lillian Benard�s Dress Shop in Holyoke for over 20 years. She was an accomplished seamstress and craft person who excelled in needlepoint, crewel and cross stitch. She lived in Chicopee for many years before moving to Cape Cod in 1970. Lillian had true personal integrity and always a positive attitude. She was meticulous in everything in her life. She most recently moved to Country Estates several years ago to be close to her family and received excellent care from the staff in Agawam. She is survived by her nieces; Bonnie Picard of Granby, MA; Suzanne Shea of Vero Beach, FL and Jo Ann Benard of San Diego, CA. She had many loyal friends from Cape Cod and was also predeceased by her sister, Bernice Shea; her two brothers, Raymond and Arthur Benard and a nephew Donald Shea. All funeral services are private and under the care of The Messier Funeral Home, Holyoke. Memorial donations in Lillian�s name can be made to the Shriners Hospital, 516 Carew St., Spfld, MA 01104.
