LEONA H. DOYLE 1914 � 2009 HOLYOKE � Leona H. (Curry) Doyle, 94, a sixty year Holyoke resident, passed away on Thursday, January 15 at the Holyoke Geriatric Center. She was born in Holyoke on May 30, 1914, the daughter of the late Leo and Emma (Peet) Curry. She attended schools in Easthampton and retired in 1978 from the former Steiger�s store in Holyoke, where she managed the card and candy department. She was a communicant of Blessed Sacrament Church and was a member of the Legion of Mary, previously serving as past president and also did volunteer work at the Holyoke Geriatric Center. She was the wife of the late Minier F. �Mike� Doyle who died November 4, 2004. She was also predeceased by her son, Michael Doyle on February 23, 2008 She is survived by her daughter, Mary Ann Curran and her husband Tim, and her daughter in law Patricia Doyle, all of Holyoke, and one sister, Lillian Pariseault of New Port Richey, Florida. She will be sadly missed by four grandchildren, Sean. Matthew, Kathleen, Kelly, seven great grandchildren,�and several nieces. She was predeceased by her sister Doris Brown. Funeral services are Wednesday, January 21 at 10am from the Messier Funeral Home, 1944 Northampton St. (Route 5) Holyoke, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11am at Blessed Sacrament Church. Committal services will follow at the Massachusetts Veteran�s Memorial Cemetery Chapel, 1390 Main St in Agawam. Calling hours at the funeral home are on Tuesday, January 20 from 2 to 6pm. Leona�s family would like to thank the staff at Holyoke Geriatrics for the love, compassion, and many kindnesses shown to her and her family during her stay.
