    Kimberly A. Whitten

    January 26, 1980 - September 10, 2009

Kimberly A. Whitten 1980 2009 WINSTON SALEM, N.C. Kimberly A. (Koske) Whitten, 29, formerly of Belchertown, died suddenly on Thursday, September 10, 2009 at the Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in North Carolina. She was born in Holyoke on January 26, 1980 to Michael J. Koske Sr. of Belchertown and the late Sharon (Ohren) who passed away on August 29, 1996. Kim attended schools in Belchertown and graduated from Belchertown High School in 1998. She continued her education at Randolph Community College where she earned an Associates Degree in Photo Journalism. Kim worked as a self-employed Photographer for many years. In Kims own words, I love the outdoors, camping, hiking, snowboarding..I also love to travel and explore new places. I have always loved the idea of photography. Being able to freeze a moment in time to enjoy over and over again, to tell a story with just one image has always appealed to me. Beside her father, Kim leaves to cherish her memory, her husband William Whitten of Germanton, N.C.; her brother, Michael J. Koske Jr. of Belchertown; her sister, Jennifer L. Thomas and her husband Randy of Belchertown; her paternal grandparents, Thomas Koske of South Hadley and Ann (Conway) Koske of Granby; her mother-in-law, Edna Whitten of Germanton, N.C.; her two nieces, Ashley and Lindsey; her nephew Dylan; her aunts including Paula Sullivan and Dori Wotus; her uncles, cousins and extended family members and her best friend and companion, Matthew Canter of Winston Salem, N.C. She will also be sadly missed by Whitsy and Buster Duster. A funeral procession will form on Wednesday, September 16 at 8:45 a.m. at the Messier Funeral Home, 1944 Northampton St, Holyoke. There will be a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at Mater Dolorosa Church in Holyoke. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. Calling hours will be on Tuesday, September 15 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made, in Kims memory, to the Lupus Foundation of America, 270 Farmington Ave, Suite 218, Farmington, CT, 06032.
