Joseph Kaminski

Tribute HOLYOKE- Joseph P. Kaminski, 82, of Smiths Ferry in Holyoke, passed away peacefully on June 5, 2018. He was born on March 5, 1936, a son of the late Joseph and Sophie (Klepacki) Kaminski. Joseph was educated and spent most of his childhood in Montague, MA. Joseph proudly served his country in the US Air Force. He retired from Nonotuck Wire in South Hadley after years of working as a machinist. Joseph loved watching the Red Sox, golf, fishing on the dock behind his home and hosting family gathering with all of his extended family.  He will be missed by his wife of 52 years, Alice (Paul) Kaminski of Holyoke; a son Arthur “Skip” Whitten and his wife Francine of Gulfport, FL; a daughter in-law Eloise “Tudy” Whitten of Chicopee, MA; 7 grandchildren, several great grandchildren, and one great great grandson. He also leaves two sisters, Lolly and Phyllis and several nieces, nephews, and loving family around the country.  He was predeceased by a daughter Gail Smith in 2017 and a son Paul Whitten in 2016. Visiting hours will be held on Friday, June 15, 2018 from 5-7PM at Messier Funeral Home, 1944 Northampton Street, Holyoke. A funeral home service will take place on Saturday, June 16, 2018 at 11AM in the Messier Funeral Home, followed by the burial with military honors in the Smiths Ferry Cemetery, (Route 5) Holyoke, MA.
