Irene Gagnon

April 5, 1926 - July 11, 2013

Southampton- Irene (Genereux) Gagnon, 87, of Southampton, was called home to be with God on Thursday July 11, 2013. Born in Holyoke to the late William and Aline (Jodain) Genereux she was raised and educated in Holyoke and was a faithful communicant of the former Perpetual Help Church. Irene was an avid Bingo player but the greatest joy in life was spending time with her caring family and friends. She was the wife of the late Ronald C. Gagnon who predeceased her in 1993. She leaves her loving children; Paul Gagnon and his wife Brenda of South Carolina, Leonard Gagnon and his wife Janet of Southampton and Lorraine Krasinski and her husband James of Huntington Beach, CA; cherished grandchildren, James Krasinski, Jennifer Krasinski Moore, Kevin Gagnon, Melissa Gagnon and Lee Gagnon; her great-grandson Zander and her devoted sisters-in-law Mickey Genereux of Chicopee, Monique Ouillette of Belchertown and Claire Campbell and her husband Maurice of Easthampton. Sadly Irene was also predeceased by her brothers; Alfred, Wilfred and Arthur and her sisters Eva Rodier, Alice and Yvonne Phaneuf and Cecile Dugre. Funeral services for Irene will be held on Wednesday July 17, 2013 at 8:45am from Messier Funeral Home, 1944 Northampton St., Holyoke, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial celebrated at 10:00AM in Blessed Sacrament Church followed by interment in Precious Blood Cemetery.
