HOLYOKE- Helen B. (Malicki) Durocher O�Donnell, 91, passed away on Friday, October 24, 2014 after a brief illness. She was born in South Hadley on May 17, 1923 a daughter of the late Joseph and Bertha (Lewandowski) Malicki and educated in South Hadley schools. Helen was a longtime nursing aide and worked for over 25 years at the former Holyoke Nursing Home retiring in 1995. She was active with the Polish American Citizens Club having served as the President and at many other various office capacities as well as serving on the Board of Directors. She volunteered with the Auxiliary Post #8006 in Florence and was a past president. She loved Bingo, enjoyed crocheting afghans, knitting, traveling, gardening and tending to her beautiful landscaping at her home where she has resided for over 47 years. She was predeceased by her husband, USN/CPO James P. O�Donnell on July 28, 1996. Helen is survived by her two sons, Al Durocher of Brewster; David Durocher of Holyoke; three daughters, Donna Durocher of Scottsdale, AZ; Gail Levi and her husband Ken of Coral Springs, FL; Dawn Owen and her husband David of Coral Springs; two grandchildren; three great grandchildren and a sister, Sophie Gazda of South Hadley. She will be missed by several nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. Helen was also predeceased by a sister, Stella Faginski. Helen�s funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 28, 2014 at 2PM in the chapel of the Massachusetts Veterans� Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main St., Agawam, MA 01001.
