Evelyn I. Bey 1933-2014 HOLYOKE- Evelyn I. (LaBelle) Bey, 81, passed away in her home in Sarawood in Holyoke on November 14, 2014. She was born on August 1, 1933 in Chicopee to the late Andre and Cordelia (Langdeau) LaBelle. Evelyn graduated from Holyoke High School in 1952 and continued her education at the Providence School of Nursing, graduating in 1955. She worked at the old Providence Hospital as a Registered Nurse for 15 years. She married her husband Robert C. Bey Sr. on June 30, 1956 and spent many loving years together until his passing in 2004. Evelyn was a caring and loving person, and had a quirky sense of humor. She was predeceased by her son Robert Bey, Jr.; her brother Andre LaBelle; and her sister Cecile Otterpohl. Evelyn is survived by her four sons, Joseph Bey and his wife Ginger of Holyoke, Carl Bey and his wife Linda of South Hadley, Francis Bey and his wife Kim of Holyoke, and Eric Bey of Enfield, CT; two daughters, Barbara Hill and her husband Steve of Buena Vista, GA and Carolyn Raitz and her husband Doug of East Hampton, CT; ten grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a sister, Olive Stroobants. Calling hours for Evelyn will be Monday, November 17 from 5-7PM in the Messier Funeral Home, 1944 Northampton St, Holyoke, followed by a funeral home service at 7PM.
