Enid M. Labrecque

Enid M. Labrecque 1921 � 2009 HOLYOKE � Enid M. (Cross) Labrecque, 87, departed this world on Wednesday, February 04, 2009 at Holyoke Health Care Center. She was born in New London, CT on May 10, 1921 to the late Fred and Sarah (Girard) Cross. At an early age Enid moved to South Hadley, MA where she graduated from South Hadley High School in 1939. She was a communicant of St. Patrick�s Church and always considered South Hadley her home. She moved to Holyoke in 1950 and spent fifty-three years in the same house. After the death of her husband of fifty-one years, Gerard D. �Jerry� Labrecque, in 1996, she became an active member in the Mercy Medical Center Grief Support Group. She organized the first Saturday informal luncheon for group members. She was a participant in the South Hadley Council on Aging and was an active member in the Holyoke Council on Aging. She leaves two sons, Paul G. Labrecque of Pasadena, MD and Gary F. Labrecque of Endwell, N.Y. and her three grandchildren. A funeral procession will form on Saturday, February 7, at 8:45 a.m. at the Messier Funeral Home, 1944 Northampton St, Holyoke. There will be a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Church in Holyoke. Burial will follow the Liturgy, in St. Rose Cemetery in South Hadley. Calling hours will be Friday, February 6 from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
