Holyoke- Elizabeth A. Cropanese, passed away peacefully at Holyoke Medical Center on August 22, 2016. Betty was born in Pittston, PA on August 21, 1927 a daughter of the late Alva and Patrick Tigue. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Frank D. Cropanese in 1992. Betty was a faithful Catholic and a loving and devoted mother to her five children. She enjoyed traveling, trips to the casinos, her Irish heritage; she loved cooking and spending time with her family. She will be missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her loving family, Frank and his wife Peggy, of Springfield, MA, Danny Cropanese and Rhonda Hillman of Ludlow, MA, Joseph Cropanese and his wife Michele of Chicopee, MA; Karen Contakis and her husband Anthony of East Longmeadow, MA, and Laurie Cropanese of Albany, NY. She also leaves four grandchildren: Rachelle Tenczar and her husband John, Danny Cropanese and his wife Katelyn, Frank A. Cropanese and his wife Aimee, and Anthony Cropanese and his wife Ellen. She also leaves a brother Gerard Tigue, of New Jersey, 16 great grandchildren and several loving nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. She was predeceased by her siblings Marie, Patrick, and Paul. The family would like to thank her caretaker, Petie Mercado. Her family will gather and receive friends on Thursday, August 25, 2016 from 4-7PM at Messier Funeral Home, 1944 Northampton St., Holyoke, MA 01040. Her funeral will begin on Friday at 8:45AM from Messier�s and be followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10AM in Blessed Sacrament Church, 1945 Northampton St, Holyoke.
