BELCHERTOWN- Helene M (Bibeau) Brouillette, 77, passed away on Monday, February 6, 2017 after a brief illness. She was born in Holyoke on May 27, 1939 a daughter of the late Charles and Celina (Laporte) Bibeau. She was educated in Perpetual Help and Precious Blood Schools graduating in 1957. She then attended Holyoke Community College graduating in 1976 and later achieved her B.S. from Westfield State College in Psychology. Helene dedicated over 27 years of community service with Holyoke Community College (H.C.C.) in the financial aide office. Her assistance went well beyond the duties in her job description and became an integral part in many students’ lives over her tenure. She would do whatever needed to be done in order to improve the lives of others that were in need. After her retirement in 2002 she still was active at the college and in her spare time loved playing scrabble, knitting, sewing and having lunch with old friends. Helene was predeceased by her husband Ernest C. Brouillette, Sr in December of 1990 and by her infant son Joseph Brouillette. She is survived by her 2 sons, Ernest C. Brouillette, Jr and his wife Sharon of Washington; Robert Brouillette and his wife Bobby Jean of Putnam, CT; 2 daughters, Lynne M. Brouillette of Fiskdale, MA; Deborah A. Harbison and her husband Peter of Belchertown; her brother, Phil Bibeau and his wife Anita of NH; 14 adored grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren who will forever remember Helene’s generosity. She also leaves Michelle Lefebvre a special first cousin and dedicated friend. Helene also leaves behind several nieces, nephews, cousins and many dear friends and former colleagues. Helen also leaves her dear friends at the Belchertown Senior Center who will miss her dearly. Life celebration hours will be held on Thursday, February 9, 2017 from 4-7PM at Messier Funeral Home, 1944 Northampton St., Holyoke, MA 01040. Her funeral will begin on Friday, February 10, 2017 at 8:45AM from Messier’s and followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10AM in Blessed Sacrament Church, Holyoke. The Rite of Committal and Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, South Hadley.
